Average Cost Of Comprehensive Cover Reduces

Motorists will be interested to read that the average cost of fully comprehensive motor insurance dropped in the first 3 months of this year in the UK when compared with the same period last year according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI) Motor Insurance Premium Tracker.

On average, the amount paid for such cover in the first quarter of 2022 was £416 per annum with this being 5% lower than the same period last year.

This will no doubt come as good news for some motorists especially in the current financial climate with the cost of living rising due to things like higher utility bills, increased mortgage repayments and having to pay more for fuel on petrol forecourts.

Apparently, this is the lowest average premium seen since way back on the third quarter of 2015 – almost 7 years ago.

Despite the reduction in some premiums, it is important that people shop around for their cover. There are so many ways that this can be done. If you prefer face to face contact then you could always pop into your local high street insurance broker’s office to obtain a quotation for your motor insurance. You may be able to get a quote from your bank or building society or the post office. You could also use the Internet to get some quotes from one or more price comparison websites although do bear in mind that not all motor insurance companies use price comparison websites.
