Many Insurers Continue To Support Motorists In The Pandemic

It is pleasing to read that car insurance companies that are members of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) are continuing to give additional support to motorists as a result of the pandemic here in the UK. This will no doubt be welcomed by many policyholders during what is proving to be a prolonged period of financial difficulty for an awful lot of people.

There will no doubt be many motorists who are not travelling as many miles as they would normally do perhaps due to working from home because of the pandemic. The above insurers have agreed to review how much those policyholders are paying for their cover. There will no doubt be some people who are currently struggling to pay their car insurance premiums so the above insurance companies will explore options in relation to this with their policyholders.

Apparently, those insurers have extended their commitment that up to 30th April 2021 those policyholders who use their car to get to work and back as a result of the coronavirus are not to be affected in a negative manner. Policyholders do not need to get in touch with their insurance companies to change the level of their cover or to update any documentation.

It is also pleasing to read that those motorists who are insured through companies that are members of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) can, up to 30th April 2021, use their cars without having a negative impact on their cover when used on a voluntary basis relating to the transporting of groceries and medicines to people that have been effected by the coronavirus. Policyholders do not need to get in touch with their insurance companies to change the level of their cover or to update any documentation. The above is also applicable to NHS Volunteer Responders but also includes the transportation of supplies that are considered essential, the transportation of equipment and the transportation of patients. It also includes those people who volunteer to help with the vaccination of people relating to the coronavirus.

We trust that the above is of some help to many car insurance policyholders.
