According to research carried out by Churchill Car Insurance, it is East London where there are the most uninsured vehicles when compared with the percentage of vehicles in that locality here in the UK.

In East London it is estimated that 13.4% of vehicles do not have motor insurance cover. It is estimated that, in that area, there is a 1 in 8 chance of someone driving a vehicle that has no insurance being involved in an accident.

In second place is North London where 9.3% of vehicles are estimated to have no insurance covering them. There is a 1 in 11 chance of a vehicle that is not insured being involved in an accident.

In third place is South East London where 9.1% of vehicles are estimated to have no insurance in place. There is a 1 in 11 chance of a vehicle that is not insured being involved in an accident.

In fourth place is Liverpool where 7.9% of vehicles are estimated to have no motor insurance in place. There is a 1 in 13 chance of a vehicle that is not insured being involved in an accident.

In fifth place is Bradford where 7.6% of vehicles are estimated to have no motor insurance in place. There is a 1 in 13 chance of a vehicle that has no insurance cover in place getting caught up in an accident.

When you look at the top ten places with uninsured vehicles, it is interesting that five of them are located in London.

Birmingham is estimated to have 55,142 uninsured vehicles.
